Journal phrases that hide mid-range entries

Words like ‘momentum’ and ‘looked strong’ often disguise buying the middle of a range.

Vague journals protect egos. “Saw momentum into London” sounds analytical; it often means you bought halfway between yesterday’s low and high because candles were green.

Replace feelings with locations

Write the edge you marked, which revisit you waited for, and what would have invalidated the idea. If you cannot name the edge, you probably did not have a range trade — you had a impulse ticket.

A weekly rewrite drill

Pick three losses. Cross out every adjective. Keep only levels, times, and closes. Traders who finish our intensive’s journal module usually find at least one “momentum” entry that was simply mid-range. That discovery stings. It also shortens the next month’s mistake list.
